It wasn’t hard to think of a good charity for this month’s donation. Initially, I made jokes about the “Frankenstorm” and now I feel horrible, since it ended up being so devastating. The sad reality is, these disasters will continue to happen and there is a constant need for relief. I drove through New Jersey and New York, a few days after the storm, and it was surreal, and I wasn’t even in the parts that were hardest hit. I saw convoys of military trucks bringing aid, gas rationing and extremely long lines, many gas stations closed and tons of debris on 95, which reminded me that disasters can hit anytime, anywhere. I felt guilty that I was driving right by it and wasn’t able to stop and help.
So, 10% of this month’s portrait sessions will go to the American Red Cross, to help those in need now and in the future:
