Melissa and Justin hadn’t seen each other in 15 years and were reunited at a high school reunion. Soon after, they were dating. The dating phase turned into the engagement phase and on this day, the newlywed phase! A nice ceremony, complete with personal wedding vows (that had everyone a little teary eyed) and butterfly release started off the celebration in Melissa’s parent’s backyard. When I first hear of backyard weddings I sometimes worry that they will be pretty plain, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how many cute details there were, as well as the bright color scheme. The weather was overcast and not too hot, which doesn’t bother me, but the strong likelihood of heavy rain had everyone a little worried. The rain held off until late night, so by then it didn’t matter anymore. Hey and the cops even showed up to see what all the music and partying was about!!! proof that everyone was having a GREAT time! (and nobody got in trouble, either) 🙂
I LOVE the luau theme and bright colors! Orange has become my new obsession… maybe this wedding kicked it all off? (yellow is also my favorite. I especially love the yellow rose in the bouquet!)
