Things I learned today, April 3, 2011:
1) My mom learned how to send a text message, but after I replied, I received a phone call. She only figured out the first part of texting, learning how to reply back is for next week… Or year.
2) Wilmington, DE as I expected, has a bunch of cool spots for photos, many of which I didn’t even get to use 🙁
3) What was not expected was getting kicked out of one of the best, Brandywine Park by DNR or State Police or some higher authority! note: Delaware State parks require a day rate, special use permit for professional photography, and it’s NOT cheap. Ignorance is bliss, and since I really did not know any better, I was given a warning and didn’t have to pay, luckily.
4) I may or may not have had my sweater cardigan buttoned on the wrong button all Sunday afternoon. I’m sure I looked REALLY put together if it was… whoops.
5) Most of the cool cafes and restaurants are closed on Sundays in downtown Wilmington, but KFC is open and a $5 meal actually costs $5! (thanks to Delaware’s no sales tax laws! wooo)
6) Adventures are a lot more fun when shared with fun people, like Shauna. She is one of my new 2nd shooters and is awesome. My favorite quote of the day from her is (and I don’t usually remember quotes): “I feel like I’m talking to myself” translation: we’re a lot alike, poor Shauna! 🙂
7) I still love road trips, even if my Super Honda almost has 239K miles on it!I particularly love driving on the open road. This is why I will always take the Eastern Shore route to locations north, 95 is not nearly as cool.
8) I will admit my engagement posing was a little rusty, it’s been awhile! but I have awesome clients who put up with me and trust me that they’ll turn out pretty.
9) I prefer beer over wine, which is why I still stopped to get some on my way home, after driving all over the place today.
10) I still have the best job ever and can’t wait to shoot all these weddings this year! *I also have beautiful subjects to take photos of* (see below)
